WHAT’S GRAPHIC RECORDING?
Ideas are slippery. Sometimes words alone can’t capture them.
But when words team up with pictures, ideas take root in the imagination — and start to grow. Metaphors build clarity, relationships become visible, plans become concrete, and new solutions emerge.
Graphic recording provides a live, hand-drawn visual summary of a conference or workshop. It crystallises group creativity, and helps build consensus, inclusion and optimistic energy.
The service is also known as visual sense-making, graphic scribing, strategic illustration, sketchnoting or graphic harvesting. A similar practice is graphic facilitation, in which the illustrator also facilitates the discussion.

OPTIONS FOR YOUR EVENT
-

THE LIVE CAPTURE
A live, hand-drawn visual summary of the content of a debate, presentation or conference session. It helps participants to reflect on the content during or immediately after the session. The live capture can also be edited and refined for print or digital circulation after the event.
-

THE SPEAKER MAP
A live or post-event capture of the important points made by all the speakers in a session and their interconnections, using caricatures of each presenter. The live-captured version has more spontaneity and in-session entertainment value, while the post-event version is a polished, more publishable product. Both versions can be created for the same event.
-

THE STRATEGY MAP
A map that illustrates the sequence of strategic and operational landmarks en route to a future state. Created either live or after the event in consultation with the client, the strategy map visualises the organisation’s journey with a single, exciting image and an explanatory commentary.
