    Carlos is the editorial cartoonist for two South African news titles — the Mail & Guardian and News24. He is the 2024 winner of the Vodacom Journalist of the Year award for opinion journalism, and in 2020 he won the Standard Bank Sikuvile Award for editorial cartoons. His work has been published by The Economist 1843, Die Welt (Germany), Suddeutsche Zeitung (Germany), Schweizer Illustrierte (Switzerland) and Politiken (Denmark). Before his career as a cartoonist and graphic recorder began, he worked as a football writer and arts editor for the Sunday Times South Africa. He lives in Johannesburg with his wife and two sons.   • QUINCY-JONES TSATSI

    GRAPHIC DESIGNER & WRITER

    Quincy-Jones Tsatsi has two decades of experience as a reporter, copyeditor and visual designer. He started out as a cub reporter for Caxton Community Newspapers in 2004, before cutting his design teeth at the Sunday World, the Mail & Guardian and Business Times. At The Times, he led the design & page layout team, directing a punchy and acclaimed visual style at the former sister paper of the Sunday Times. Quincy has recently worked as a senior designer for the Daily Maverick’s DM168, and has been consulting as a creative director on US hip hop artist Apani B Fly MC’s digital media campaign. He also copy-edited and co-designed the book ‘Reflecting Black’, published by The Manor.
